About
When brand communications agency Clearsilver decided to do something different for their 2009 chosen charity this is what they came up with.
High Heel-a-thon is a fun run (or walk!) with a twist – all participants must start and finish in heels. But you can take them off en route and we’ll supply pink ribbon so you can sling them around your neck, over a pushchair or over someone else you’ve taken a fancy to!
Anyone can take part in the High Heel-a-thon (under 16s need parental/guardian permission). There is also a wheelchair/ buggy route so wheels are not an issue.
We are asking for just a £20.00 entrance fee (which covers entrance admin and the cost of your very fetching event t-shirt), and £100 for corporate groups of five.
There will be prizes for the best customised t-shirt, the best-dressed team, spot prizes and one lucky participant will walk (or limp!) away with a major prize. All those across the finishing line will also receive a goody bag.
Once you’ve registered your entry we want you to inspire your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your daring endeavours and raise as much money as you can for this great cause. We’d love each entrant to raise at least £100 as our target is £10,000 which will fund the Yorkshire Breast Cancer Haven’s reflexology complementary therapies for a whole year.
High Heel-a-thon will take place on Sunday 27th September, starting at Breast Cancer Haven, The Gateway, Leeds at 1.30 pm.
Sponsorship opportunities are available – please send us a message if you are interested.
John Korff, of Korff Enterprises, the organiser of the original High Heel-a-thon in New York said “This event will show the International Olympic Committee that stiletto running should be part of the London 2012 programme!”
